Only 356 days to go! Christmas 2012 is the release date for Niko 2. The continuing adventures of the little reindeer is currently in production. Lime Street Sound were responsible for all the dialogue recording on this animated feature.

Thor. The legends of Valhalla to be released in the new year was recorded by Lime Street Sound. We recorded all the dialog from Giants to Valkyries, from Thor to Odin. (We're used to self appointed Gods around here) An amazing retelling of the Saga of Valhalla, this feature length animation was a co production between Ireland and Iceland.

The Canimals are loose!

Lime Street Sound in conjunction with Aardman Animation (Wallace and Gromit, Creature Comforts, Chicken Run, Arthur Christmas, amongst many others) have completed the final run of Canimals cartoons. These creatures who reside in the real world were brought to life by our sound design. We had the pleasure of designing and bringing to premix 19 episodes. Designed in full HD (5.1 surround sound) it is now one of the biggest shows in Australasia.

Cork Maternity Hospital under fire

Anyone who watched the "From here to Maternity" series on RTE recently, brilliantly directed by Edel O'Brien with sound mixes by Lime Street Sound, will have been struck by the amazing nursing staff at Cork's regional Maternity Hospital...The staff at the hospital are currently struggling to deal with major HSE cutbacks that are threatening their futures... We wholeheartedly give our support to them and stand with them in their fight to keep their jobs.

In late March Coco TV provided us with a tricky project...6 1-hour fly-on-the-wall reality wedding shows where the Groom is given 10 grand to make his brides dream wedding day come true- only problem is he has to do it all himself without her knowledge.. Why was it such a tricky gig to do?? The stories were so compelling it was all we could do to stay focused on the sound!! All us cry-baby engineers found the experience most emotional!. Don't tell the Bride broadcasting through April and May RTE2

Caving with Dorothy

We felt it was time to get "out and about" for some on-location work..and what better place to start than in Doolin cave... Home of a massive stalactite ... long time friend of Lime Street, the wonderfully talented artist Dorothy Cross, got us to work our way through mud and rivers to get to the centre of the cave where we set up a 5.1 recording of boy soprano Ben Escorcio singing just beneath the stalactite..Lots of Damp in the air and dripping water made it challenging but the results were great...Frith Street Gallery in London is currently showing some of Dorothy's pieces including "stalactite" ...they very kindly installed a 5.1 surround audio set-up to give our mix that "in the cave" feeling..

Yes Folks, It's back. Feirm Factor series 3 for TG4 is coming down the line. Lime Street Sound and again at the helm of this agri-feast of fun and frollocks. The contestants are competing for a Land Rover Discovery! I think I'll take part next year, how hard can it be?

We have the facility for anyone to Skype in to their session and direct a voice over, discuss their project with the engineer or just Skype in for a chat. Lime Street Sound are now stepping up the use of the video conferencing facilities in the individual studios. Because Skype and the use of Skype is FREE, anyone can do it from anywhere in the world as long as you have Internet access.

After 10 years he is still on the road! Hector I gCeanada, is the latest adventure from the fire headed wanderer. Lime Street Sound have again been drafted in to do their magic on the sound for this travelogue. Heading through Canada Hector Ó hEochagáin meets up with every manner of Canadian to deliver a rapid fire travel show that will leave you breathless. Check it out on TG4, Thursdays @ 21:30 and repeated Saturdays @ 22:15.

A major new documentary on Robert Flaherty.

Robert Flaherty was a pioneering film maker. Some would say the father of documentary film. Macdara O Curraidhin, a maveric in his own right, has produced an hour long film on Robert Flaherty for TG4 in Gaelic and has just completed the international English version. Both of which were mixed at Lime Street Sound.It explores the man and his work. Famous for such titles as "Nanook of the North", "Man of Aran" and the Oscar nominated "Louisiana Story", Robert O Flaherty was a flawed man with amazing vision, who invented the genre of modern documentary.

Over the summer we had the pleasure of working on a major new series for RTE called "Tracks and Trails". Produced by Sherwin Media, the series followed several celeb's like Dermot Gavin, Ken Doherty etc around various walks and trails around Ireland. Shot on HD the series was visually stunning. Of course with Lime Streets input it sounded amazing as well.

Admit One - RTE Dance on the Box

The third series of 'Mi Na Meala' for TG4 has started to be mixed by Lime Street Sound. This very successful series is now in its third year. The series focuses on couples relaying their story of their early romance and through to their honeymoon and their life together. This gentle meandering format is drawing huge audience figures.

Lime Street Sound have signed up to Enhanced Audio's new M600 universal microphone mount. After extensive testing we have decided this is the one for us. The sound response from the mount is quite amazing. Apart from the fact that Ciaran wanted one because Dave Gilmour (Pink Floyd) has one!
